ELISE CHRISTIE finally had a reason to celebrate as her boyfriend helped Hungary to their first ever Winter Olympic gold.
Brit short-track star Christie, 27, who crashed out of two of her events and was disqualified in a third, hugged and kissed Shaolin Sandor Liu moments after the race.

Hungary had never won a short-track medal at the Winter Olympics and their first was sealed in an Olympic record time of 6 minutes 31.971 seconds.
Sandor Liu — who has been dating Christie since October 2015 — crossed the line first in the 5,000m relay as China finished 0.064 seconds behind for silver and Canada took bronze.
And Christie hopped along with her protective boot on due to an ankle injury suffered in her last event to embrace her gold-winning man.
Brothers Sandor Liu Shaolin and Shaoang Liu raced alongside Viktor Knoch and Csaba Burjan to make history for Hungary in the final short track event of the Games.

It will be a welcome change for triple world champion Christie who has had another nightmare Games where she failed to pick up a medal.
The Scot fell in the 500m final and 1500m short track semi-finals while she was given a yellow card for two penalties in the 1000m heats.

That meant that Christie is still hunting for an Olympic medal after being disqualified from all three events four years ago in Sochi.
But Chritie is adamant she will not let her Olympic failure define her career.

Christie said: “I was so focused on the gold [in the 1500m] that maybe I did make some bad judgement calls.
“There’s a lot to move forward on, but at the same time, I won’t define myself on what has happened.”
Christie also confirmed she would be taking part in the next Olympics in Beijing in 2022.

She added: “Actually I had been thinking about retiring, but it just came out, and then I knew I was going to keep going.
“I wouldn’t have said it if I didn’t mean it.
“I want to do long track and short track events, which probably means sacrificing one of the short track events, but that’s OK.”
flew by! Sorry I can’t be with you today! So much love
