WIMBLEDON may have a strict dress code for players – but there is nothing they can do to stop the growing trend of body art on display at SW19.
Tennis stars are keeping right on trend as they mix motivational phrases with pure art with some of their inkings.

While crowds had enjoyed some of the thrilling tennis on show in the first couple of days, some of the tattoos have also caught the eye.
SunSport brings you some of the best.
Dustin Brown
The German Jamaican is one of the most charismatic players on Tour, but hidden away from view is a giant tattoo of his dad inked on his torso.
Brown said: “I have the portrait of my dad at home in my bedroom, also.
“I don’t get to see him that often. Normally in the off-season.
“It’s been a very long road for me and my whole family.
“That’s one of the things I’ve been wanting to do for a very long time and I had the opportunity to do that with a great tattoo artist in Cologne in Germany.”

Timea Bacsinszky
The 28-year-old from Swizterland has an inking on the back of her neck that can be seen when she is in action. But kept under wraps is a giant Dreamcatcher tattoo on her body.

Gael Monfils
The big-hitting Frenchman has gone full out with his body art, with angel wings adorning his entire back.
Standing 6ft 4in, that means Monfils spent some serious time on the coach getting inked.

Bethanie Mattek-Sands

The doubles specialist opted for a colourful approach with a series of decorative flowers adorning her right arm along with a bumble bee.
She said: “I have my killer bees here. A nickname a coach gave me when I was little.”
Karolina Pliskova

One of the top contenders for the Ladies’ title this year, Pliskova has two Polynesian symbols – one on her left arm, the other on her left thigh.
Not much is known about their origin, as Pliskova has remained tight-lipped what they mean, other than they are Maori origin.

Polona Hercog

One of the most decorated player on either Tour, Hercog almost has a full sleeves of inkings on her left arm – with the skull and flower both dominant.
The 26-year-old Slovenian also has work done on her left arm and says she is not finished yet. Could we see two full sleeves in years to come?

Borna Coric

One of the rising stars on the men’s circuit, Coric has opted to use tattooing to inspire himself.
The 20-year-old Croat has the phrase “There’s nothing worse in life than being ordinary” on his right arm.
Stan Warinka

Having won three of the four Grand Slam titles, Warinka has proved he can cut it at the very top of the game.
But even so, he keeps a motivational phrase close to him at all times, with “Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better” on his forearm.
Warinka said: “There is always disappointment, heartache. You are losing almost every tournament.
“You need to just accept it and be positive because you are going to lose and fail. We’re not all Nadal or Djokovic, who can win most tournaments.”
