FAN FAVOURITE Will Grigg is out of Northern Ireland’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers due to a family situation.
The Wigan striker’s wife gave birth just over a week ago and has asked to be excused from this international meet up.
Green and White Army boss Michael O’Neill revealed: “Will asked to not be in the squad due to a family situation, which I’m not going to go into. It’s his decision.”
Grigg missed Northern Ireland’s opening qualifier against Czech Republic due to the expected birth earlier this month.
O’Neill added: “It’s a blow for Will – he’s been on the scoresheet and I had a good chat with him.”
