Wigan Athletic to offer Karl Robinson a return to management just two days after he was sacked by MK Dons
Wigan are ready to offer Karl Robinson a quick return to management – after sacking Gary Caldwell.
Latics supremo David Sharpe is a fan of the footballing style of Robinson who left MK Dons following a poor start to their League One campaign.

Liverpudlian Robinson’s way of playing fits with Sharpe’s view of the game and his availability makes him the leading candidate for the post.
Robinson also has a good record of finding young players and also loaning talent from the Premier League, with Wigan needing new blood to survive.

Caldwell was axed with Wigan in 23rd spot and despite his close relationship with Sharpe who gave him the job when Malky Mackay was sacked.
Wigan plan a new-look management set-up, with a director of football set to be recruited too. Robinson would also be more comfortable in that structure than Caldwell.
