THE numbers have been crunched to reveal the dirtiest team in the land… Millwall!
The Lions claim ‘no-one likes us and we don’t care’ – and it is not hard to see why they are down in the popularity stakes after FourFourTwo worked out the naughtiest clubs from the last five seasons.

The study was based on a scoring system that gave sinners a point for a yellow and two for a red card picked up in league matches, before dividing the total score by the number of games played.
And Millwall come out on top of the pile – with ‘dirty’ Leeds not far from the top of the leaderboard in eighth place.
The Lions appear to be no more than mid-table in the red card stakes.
But their mega haul of 430 yellow cards in five seasons secures their title.

MOST RED CARDS OVER THE LAST FIVE SEASONS
1= Mansfield – 30
1= Notts County – 30
3 Accrington – 27
4= Newport – 26
4= Peterborough – 26
4= Southend – 26
7= Rochdale – 25
7= Watford – 25
10 = Leeds – 24
10 = MK Dons – 24
10 = Blackpool – 24
10 = Newcastle – 24
10 = Rotherham – 24

10 = Chesterfield – 24
10 = Bradford – 24

Stoke developed a reputation – unfairly or not – for failing to keep it clean under former boss Tony Pulis.
Their style of football has changed under Mark Hughes but the Potters still sneak into the top ten.
And we don’t know if there is something in the Nottinghamshire air, but Mansfield and Notts County – coming in second and fifth place respectively – have picked up more reds than any other team – averaging a mega SIX every season.
