West Ham transfer news: Juventus striker Simone Zaza ‘seriously considering’ switch to the Hammers

JUVENTUS striker Simone Zaza is “seriously considering” a move to West Ham this summer according to the player’s father.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is desperate to sign a new striker this month after striker Andy Carroll was the latest West Ham player to join the likes of Andre Ayew and Manuel Lanzini on the treatment table.

And Zaza, 25,  has been told he is free to leave the Old Lady as he is not part of manager Massimiliano Allegri's plans

The Italian forward, who missed a bizarre penalty at Euro 2016, has been attracting the interests of a number of clubs across Europe including Crystal Palace but the striker's father, Antonio, has revealed that "West Ham are a solution."

Speaking to Mediaset Premium, he said: "West Ham are a solution we'd appreciate and represent something more concrete.

"We'll have to see what Juventus do and expect news soon.

"We are taking London into serious consideration as his next destination. Simone still has four years left on his contract and would happily remain in Turin to give his contribution.

"Juventus don't want to sell Simone to a direct rival. Milan, Napoli and Roma would be the options, we'll see what happens."

One stumbling block for West Ham is that Juventus are expecting in the region of £20million for his signature.

The Hammers have already smashed their club-record to land Ayew from Swansea for the same figure but the Ghanaian picked up an injury on his debut that will rule him out for four months.

Bilic is also looking into the possibility of signing out-of-favour Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony on loan until January.
