THE Wembley pitch still looked to be showing the effects of back-to-back American football games on Thursday.
England took on Slovenia in a World Cup qualifier on a playing surface that was far from ideal.

Markings from the gridiron were still visible with lines and numbers all over the pitch.
And nearest both touchlines were the hardest hit areas with the grass looking a different shade to the rest of the lawn.
Thursday’s game came just four days after the NFL was in town for another stunning spectacle.
Wembley played host to back-to-back American football games over the last two weeks.
