Watford transfer news: Roberto Pereyra is set to join the Premier League, as the Hornets agree club-record £13million deal

WATFORD are believed to have agreed a £13million deal to sign Juventus midfielder Roberto Pereyra.

Pereyra, 25, has already held talks with Watford manager Walter Mazzarri and is due to arrive in London on Wednesday.

The Hornets had one bid of £7.8m for the Argentina international rejected this summer, but they have now agreed a fee of £13m to make Pereyra their record transfer.

The Argentine only played nine times in Serie A last season and is looking for more football as well as a new challenge in the Premier League.

Nevertheless, Watford have already been active on the transfer market this summer with the £4m arrival of Jerome Sinclair from Liverpool.

Belgium Euro 2015 defender Christian Kabasele, Marseilles defender Brice Dja Djedje and Isaac Success Ajayi also signed contracts with the club and hope to help the club maintain their Premier League status.

However, Watford are still looking to add to their squad with a central defender before the transfer window closes on August 31.

The Hornets have made enquiries over a £3m deal for Sunderland centre-back Younes Kaboul.

The 30-year-old is included in Sunderland's new boss David Moyes's plans but they may need the money to strengthen in other areas.
