VAR testing in Germany is close to coming to an abrupt end after the league chief was accused of influencing matches.
The video assistant referee is being trialled in Italy and Germany this season as Fifa decide whether to use it for the World Cup in Russia.

But Bundesliga fans want it scrapped after yet another weekend of comical blunders.
Cologne, the centre where all the scenes are reviewed, has been widely blamed for making terrible decisions as the head of the VAR system in the city was given the axe.
Hellmut Krug was sensationally accused by German publication BILD of influencing penalty decisions in favour of his favourite club Schalke.
It was suggested that Krug masterminded two penalty decisions in Schalke’s 1-1 draw with Wolfsburg a week ago.

And furious fans made their voices heard this weekend with a number of banners calling for the authorities to scrap the VAR system.
Fans complain that VAR interventions spoil the flow of the game.
It often takes minutes for decisions to be made, which leads to disgruntlement at Bundesliga grounds when the ref signals that the VAR is checking a situation.
The 3-3 draw between Wolfsburg and Hertha Berlin on Sunday is a good example as two first-half goals for hosts Wolfsburg were disallowed by the VAR, sat in Cologne, which incensed home fans.

Bayern boss Jupp Heynckes believes the VAR should only be used in major incidents.
He said: “I think you should not cut out the referee too much.
“Only in very serious situations should video evidence be consulted. You must not dilute the football.”
