UFC star Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson has slammed Conor McGregor for attacking a Khabib Nurmagomedov’s bus and injuring other fighters.
The welterweight ace originally thought the incident was staged and believed it was a “publicity stunt” by the UFC but now knows it was a revenge attack.

Shocking footage showed the Notorious and around 20 pals storm the Barclay Centre in Brooklyn after the UFC 223 media day with the former champ throwing a steel dolly at a bus window.
It is believed the incident started over hostile exchange between the now lightweight champion Nurmagomedov and McGregor’s long-time team-mate and friend Artem Lobov earlier in the week.
Wonderboy said: “I showed up in Brooklyn literally the day it happened. Literally the day all the craziness happened.
“At first I thought it was a publicity stunt and I thought it was kind of fake but now that I’ve got the word and saw the reaction from the UFC I know it was the real deal.

“It did get people talking about the sport of MMA but I think it was very bad for Conor.”
While Thompson condemns McGregor’s actions, he understands why took drastic action defending his friend but said he could have handled it better.

He said: “I think it’s great that he’s a loyal friend but it could have happened in a better and smarter way.
“I think Conor is kind of regretting his reaction when everything was said and done.
“But he’s a grown man, he did what he did and you have pay the consequences.”
Thompson believes a fight with Khabib makes sense following the incident with the bad blood making it another must-see fight.
In a message to the Dublin hero, Thompson said: “Go and fight Khabib, they’ve had beef already.
“It’s already laid down everything for that fight.
“Just get the fight together and sign the papers.”
McGregor will appear in court in New York on June 14 along with his teammate Cian Crowley for their roles in the melee.
Last Friday the former lightweight champion’s bail was set at £35,247.
