THE Premier League summer transfer window is preparing to slam shut once more after a money-laden three months.
From Paul Pogba‘s £109million move from Juventus to John Stones joining forces with Manchester City for £47.5m, it’s been a big-spending summer… So far.

After all, the transfer window is still open for the next few hours and there a few clubs still hoping to bring in some last-gasp reinforcements before Wednesday’s 11pm deadline…
But do the clubs in dire need of new blood have the money to spare?
With that in mind, SunSport runs down what the NET SPEND of all the Premier League teams has been, with just hours left to go until the window slams shut.

ARSENE WENGER had been slated – as he is on an annual basis – for his reported lack of action in the transfer window.
That was until he unveiled the double swoop for Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi.
Arsenal had been seventh on the net spent list having forked out just £33m on players including Granit Xhaka, until that moment…
They’re now third after the £52m outlay – and Gunners fans across the globe are seemingly much more content.

Their net spend hovered around the £11m mark, good enough for 12th in the league.

The signing of N’Golo Kante from champions Leicester, as well as Michy Batshuayi, went a long way to boosting the Blues‘ squad depth.
Antonio Conte helped balance the books by offloading a quartet of fringe players – as well as the standard Chelsea loan spree, of course…

LIVERPOOL are undoubtedly one of the stories of the summer under Jurgen Klopp.
They’ve made a host of big-name signings, while selling a fair few too.

CITY are perilously closely followed by cross-town rivals Man United for the top spot, as the net spend under Jose Mourinho has topped £163m this summer.
The notable transfer of Pogba for £109m – with £20m of that going to agent Mino Raiola – takes up a big chunk of that, while the £30m signings of Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan round up the figure.
The Special One recouped a smidge with the sales of Paddy McNair and Donald Love to Sunderland, but ultimately, United‘s pockets must be running on empty at this stage…
