Toulouse 2 Paris Saint-Germain 0: Unai Emery’s side crash to second defeat of the season to equal last season’s total losses

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN crashed to their second defeat of the season as Toulouse went second in Ligue 1.

Unai Emery fielded a strong first-team including stars Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria and Lucas but PSG drew up a blank against a resolute TFC.

Despite dominating possession, PSG were well marshalled by the home side who’ve conceded just five times this season.

Cavani was denied by young stopper Alban Lafont several times during the first period as the champions pushed for an opener.

But the game changed a minute after the break, when PSG’s Serge Aurier was dismissed against his former club for a clumsy second-yellow card foul on Ola Toivonen.

Yann Bodiger struck a penalty shortly afterwards to put Toulouse ahead – and they doubled the advantage when substiatute Jimmy Durmaz capitalised on a mistake by Thiago Motta.

Despite a late rally, Emery’s side couldn’t even muster a consolation and could only watch as the purple shirts celebrated wildly on the pitch.

It means the French champions have lost as many games this season as they did all of last term – when they romped to the title with 95 points.
