Tottenham vs Manchester United combined XI: Only three Red Devils force their way into our Spurs-dominated line-up

TOTTENHAM’S bid for the Premier League title may be over after Chelsea were crowned champions on Friday, but there’s still plenty to play for when they take on Manchester United.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s Spurs have locked-in a Champions League spot for 2017-18 and famously finished above arch-rivals Arsenal in the standings this term.

David De Gea

A TOUGH decision to choose between Hugo Lloris and De Gea, the Spaniard edges it.

While he perhaps hasn't had his strongest season between the sticks at Old Trafford, he has been keeping opposing attackers at bay, conceding just 27 times this term.

On top of that, he's been doing so with what seems like a makeshift defence every, single game.

Lloris meanwhile has arguably the best back-four in the Premier League to keep him quiet.

Kyle Walker, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen & Danny Rose

SPEAKING of the best back-four in the Prem... how can you not look to Tottenham for defenders in this combined XI?

Spurs' back-line has been the epitome of consistency and professionalism, shipping a mere 23 times this term.

The speed and attacking flair of Walker and Rose is complemented by the strength of Alderweireld and Vertonghen in the middle.

Meanwhile, United have had seen a revolving door of defenders this season, often relying in midfielders to fill the void.

MIDFIELD

Victor Wanyama & Paul Pogba

IT'S tough to leave out players such as Ander Herrera and Eric Dier, but Wanyama and Pogba have the potential to form a solid holding midfield duo.

With the Kenyan - arguably the most underrated player in the Premier League - holding down the fort, Pogba would have more licence to join in at the attacking end.

The duo's combined passing, intercepting and tackling attributes would see them break into the combined XI above all others.

ATTACKING MIDFIELD

Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli & Juan Mata

ANOTHER area where another couple of deserving names miss out, with Son Heung-min, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and even Marcus Rashford unlucky to not be named.

However an attacking trio of Eriksen, Alli and Mata would send shivers down opposing defenders across the globe.

Eriksen's knack for notching assists, Alli's incredible eye for goal and Mata's creativity would form arguably the best attacking-midfield three in England.

STRIKER

Harry Kane

IF fit, Zlatan Ibrahimovic would have been knocking on the door for a spot in this team.

But even then, it would be hard to not name Kane as the man to lead the Spurs-United front-line.

Despite missing a fair chunk of the season through injury, the England man has scored 21 goals - at just 108 minutes a go.
