Tottenham transfer news: Nabil Bentaleb closing in on Spurs exit as he nears Schalke loan with view to permanent £17m transfer

NABIL BENTALEB is heading for the exit at Spurs – Schalke are closing in on a loan move for the winger with a view to a permanent £17million transfer.

The 21-year-old has fallen out of favour with manager Mauricio Pochettino, with the player training with the club’s Under-21s since returning to pre-season.

Tottenham boss Pochettino revealed in July that Bentaleb, who has also been linked with Newcastle, is not in his plans for the new season – nor is Federico Fazio and Alex Pritchard.

“The situation is very clear. They are not in my plans and they know,” Pochettino said.

“I have communicated with them and it was made very clear. It’s not a problem.

“They know the situation and we’ll see what happens.”
