Tottenham ‘progressing at a phenomenal rate’ and real problems at Arsenal, all in SunSport’s weekly podcast with Ian Wright

IAN WRIGHT has had his say on the contrasting fortunes of Arsenal and Tottenham in this week’s SunSport podcast.

Arsene Wenger‘s Gunners have looked demoralised in recent weeks, with results not going their way and fans turning against them.

On the differing seasons of Tottenham and Arsenal, Wright pointed to this upcoming clash between the Gunners and Manchester United.

He said: "When you look at the way Arsenal played in the derby last week, it doesn’t make any difference really who Manchester United put out.

"Last season Arsenal went up there as favourites to beat them.

"They put out a load of inexperienced players and that’s when Rashford hit the ground running.

"You just do not know what you’re going to get from Arsenal.

"If United nick a goal, it will go back to negativity in the stands, they’ll start digging out a couple of players.

"That’s where the club is at the moment, you can’t see the wood for the trees right now.

"Especially when Spurs are progressing at a phenomenal rate."

Meanwhile, on Kyle Walker's suggesting he may leave Tottenham this summer, Wright said: "This is the problem that Spurs are going to have.

"Players disrupted by thinking ‘I should be earning more money.’

"When you go to the England squad, even back in my day, some people are earning three times as much as you and you’re doing the business.

"Look at Arsenal with Theo Walcott on the bench.

"And he’s earning probably £30,000-a-week more than Harry Kane. It’s crazy.

"When Spurs address that situation, they will then be able to keep those players and build on what they’ve got right now."
