Tottenham fan blasts club for trying to squeeze £35 out of him for broken seat

A TOTTENHAM fan has branded his club “money-grabbing w*****s” for trying to squeeze £35 out of him for a broken seat.

Spurs were offering season-ticket holders their seats as £50 mementos after playing their last-ever game at White Hart Lane.

It is claimed he was told that he could keep it, however, if he forked out £35 “to reflect the condition”!

He ranted on Twitter: “Please tell me this is a joke, @SpursOfficial? £35 (instead of £50) for half a seat? Money grabbing w*****s.”

Club chairman Daniel Levy has a reputation for driving a hard bargain.

But even by his standards the club’s message appeared incredibly tight-fisted.

It read: “Following the decommissioning of the stadium after the Finale versus Manchester United, I am sorry to inform you that it was not possible to remove your seat without damage during the removal process.

“However, we have successfully and safely removed half your seat.

“If you still wish to purchase this, we are happy to offer this seat as a reduced price of £35 to reflect the condition.”

The fan reacted: “Absolutely embarrassing that a) they can’t remove a f*****g seat properly and b) they are still demanding 35 f*****g quid for it!

“Four emails later, the club still haven’t bothered to reply. They’d be quick enough to answer me if I wanted to buy that seat. Embarrassing!

“I’m most definitely not paying for it, but disappointed the seat I had for 20 years, they are going to be chucking in the bin!”

When it was pointed out that some of the money went to charity, he added: “It doesn’t ALL go to charity.

“The cost includes removal (which they haven’t done properly), packaging and delivery.”
