Tottenham are a LOT better than Arsenal… and Donald Trump would fire Arsene Wenger, claims Piers Morgan

PIERS MORGAN claims Tottenham are ‘light years’ ahead of Arsenal… and says Donald Trump would have fired Arsene Wenger long ago.

The TV host and journalist, who has a long-standing relationship with the US president, was quick to lay into the Gunners after another dreadful year.

Morgan claims Wenger needs to have been sacked long ago, while saying Tottenham have plenty to look forward to, unlike Arsenal.

Morgan told talkSPORT: “For 20 years we were the dominant force but when I watched the North London derby recently, other than Sanchez, no other Arsenal player gets in that Tottenham team.

“Tottenham looked to me like the tall, powerful, fast-moving team that Wenger produced in his first eight, nine years.

"There is no doubt if you compare Pochettino to Wenger, compare that Spurs team to the Arsenal team, they are light years ahead of us.

"I think they will win trophies. It is exciting times for them."

Morgan added that with such little success in recent seasons, Trump would have fired Wenger long ago.

He added: "Would Donald Trump consider success to be somebody who hasn't won a major trophy in 13 years?

"No, I think he would be using the immortal words: 'Arsene, you're fired'!

"The real problem is that Arsenal fans don't care enough. They have been too brainwashed.

"This is the worst season Arsene Wenger has ever had. We are going to end up out of the top four.

"Wenger looks to me like a beaten guy. We have seen the usual rash of stories – we are going to sign everyone from Messi to Ronaldo and will bring Pele out of retirement.

"It is all geared to shoring up Wenger’s position so he can sign a new £25million deal for himself.

"We are sixth in the table, we were dumped out of the Champions League for the eighth consecutive year at the last 16 stage. He has never even won the Champions League.

"This guy talks like he is Alex Ferguson, talks like he is Jose Mourinho, and he has not won the league since 2004. He has won a couple of FA Cups - well whoopie do!

"It is completely unacceptable. I'm afraid not enough Arsenal fans care. I have given up trying to persuade them.

"If they want to carry on with Wenger for two, three more years and languish where we have been for the last 13 years and never really compete for the two major trophies, then so be it.

"This is supposed to be the promised land where we had the new stadium paid for and we were going to compete with the big boys.

"We can barely compete with Stoke City."
