ERIK LAMELA is struggling to get over the recent death of his beloved dog Simba, as injuries and personal problems continue to keep him away from the Tottenham side.
The Spurs ace hasn’t played for the club since October – but it is not just the hip injury that is keeping him sidelined.

During his recovery from injury he also found out that his brother was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in his homeland of Argentina.
Mauricio Pochettino had allowed Lamela to go back to Rome, where he had played for AS Roma between 2011 and 2013 before joining Spurs, to aid his comeback.
The Telegraph have reported that in addition to his brother’s injury Lamela has been distraught by the death of Simba, who he had filled his Instagram account with.
Manager Pochettino said of Lamela last week: “It’s still difficult to give the time for him to come back. We need to wait and see. There’s still some problems.

“We need to wait. We are starting to be concerned and worried about him because he has been out for nearly three months and the situation is not moving on.”
Lamela, 24, has not played since coming on as a sub in the 2-1 EFL Cup defeat at Liverpool on October 25.
Tottenham first said he had a virus. Then he hurt his back before it was revealed he had suffered a hip problem.
