TOTTENHAM gave White Hart Lane the perfect send-off with a victory over Manchester United on Sunday.

Harry Kane’s winner ensured Tottenham’s last-ever match at White Hart Lane ended in victory against Manchester United
But the day was not about Jose Mourinho’s side – it was all about saying goodbye to the Lane.
A host of Spurs legends were in the house to say their farewell.
On an action-packed and historic afternoon, there were plenty of stories to tell.

“One Aaron Lennon”
Despite all the drama and emotion of the afternoon, Tottenham fans still had time to pay respect to one of their former stars who could not make it to north London.
Aaron Lennon spent ten years with the club until he was sold to Everton in 2015, making over 250 Premier league appearances.
The former England winger was detained under the Mental Health Act earlier this month.
But the ex-White Hart Lane favourite remains in the thoughts of the Spurs followers, as the whole home support joined together to sing his name around the half hour mark.

Rooney still cares
He might be about to head out of the Old Trafford exit door this summer, but Wayne Rooney’s desire for the Red Devils remains strong.
The United goalscorer was clearly frustrated to have fallen behind so early, and he almost let his emotions spill over on 29 minutes after the hosts were awarded a free-kick.
He looked like he was going to be sent to the naughty corner after giving referee Jon Moss a piece of his mind over the decision – with the official responding by putting his finger to his lips and telling him to shut it.
Less than ten minutes later he did take it too far as he got himself into the ref’s notebook, picking up a booking for chopping down Christian Eriksen.

Blast from the past
Any time Tottenham face Manchester United is bound to bring back fond memories for Spurs legend Pat Jennings, who was watching on from the stands on Sunday.
The iconic former goalkeeper had two spells at the Lane during his playing days totalling 14 years of service.
And despite making hundreds of stunning saves in that time, the Northern Irishman also famously found himself on the scoresheet – and it came against the Red Devils.
Back in the 1967 Charity Shield, his long punt upfield bounced over opposition keeper Alex Stepney and into the net for his side’s second in the 3-3 draw.

Odd one out
Harry Kane ticked another one off his impressive hit list on Sunday.
The England striker pounced just four minutes after the restart to double his side’s advantage.
His strike was his first-ever against Manchester United.
But even more impressively it meant he has now scored against 24 of the 25 teams he has faced in the top-flight. The only exception being Cardiff City.

The deadly duo
It has become a familiar theme, but defences just cannot seem to come up with an answer to it.
Christian Eriksen was yet again the provider for Kane to hit the net.
That was the ninth time since August 2015 that he has done the honours for the forward.
You could almost say they were telepathic – no other player has provided more for a team-mate in that time.
