SWANSEA new-boy Fernando Llorente is hoping to lead the Premier League side to cup glory in a bid to force his way back into Spain’s first team.
The 24-cap striker – on loan at the Liberty Stadium from La Liga giants Sevilla – insists his new side are keen to raise a few eyebrows this season, in both the Premier League and the cups.

In fact, former Juventus and Athletic Bilbao man Llorente – who inexplicably missed a sitter in pre-season – went as far as saying Francesco Guidolin‘s side are looking to get their hands on a trophy this term.
He said: “I think it is possible to win one of the cups.
“We know winning the Premier League is a very difficult competition with a lot of teams at a high level but we want to do well.

“I need to work hard because I have not played for a few months and this is the important thing, to work and work and work in training to make sure I play very well.”
Llorente then went on to say a particularly good showing in south Wales this term is his final chance at forcing a recall to new Spain boss Julen Lopetegui‘s plans.
He added: “I need to do it now because the league starts next week and I would also like to get back into the national side.

“I know that I will need to play well for Swansea all season if I want to do that.
“I would like to return to play for Spain, it would be a very special thing for me.”
Llorente was on the books of Bilbao from 1996 to 2013, making his way through the youth ranks and into the first team, before earning a move to Serie A giants Juventus.
The Spaniard – who has seven goals for his country – followed his two seasons at the Old Lady with a season in Sevilla before his loan switch to Swansea.
