SUNDERLAND are appealing the red card shown to Seb Larsson against Manchester United on Sunday.
The Black Cats midfielder was sent off by referee Craig Pawson for a studs-up challenge on Ander Herrera in the 43rd-minute of the 3-0 Stadium of Light defeat.

But after the match boss David Moyes claimed Larsson should not even have been booked for the tackle, in which he won the ball.
And the Scot has decided to appeal the decision in the hope the Swede avoids a three-match ban.
Should the FA uphold Larsson’s red, he will miss games with West Ham, Middlesbrough and Bournemouth.

On Larsson’s tackle, team-mate Victor Anichebe said: “At the time I was right there and I didn’t think it was a sending off.
“I think it was more Herrera’s scream that made it a lot worse than it was.”
Former referee Mark Halsey told SunSport: "It was not a red card - it was a caution at best.

"It was not a serious foul-play challenge which endangered a player's safety."
Sunderland's latest loss all but confirmed what we already knew…they are certain to be relegated.
The Black Cats have picked up just 20 points from their 31 fixtures and are now ten points back from 17th-place Hull in the Premier League table.
They have also failed to find the net in seven matches.
