SUNDERLAND‘s players chilled out in an ice bath during their gruelling pre-season boot camp in Austria – with Big Sam sporting a dubious socks and sandals look.
The Black Cats cooled off in a paddling pool full of ice – and didn’t look to be enjoying it much!

Boss Sam Allardyce has packed his team off for a sweat-out as he whips his troops into shape in the hope of avoiding a repeat of last season’s relegation battle.
But the Black Cats went cold on a deal to sign Davide Santon last night.
Former Newcastle full-back Santon looked set for a return to the North-East after Sunderland agreed a £3million fee with Inter Milan.

But the club could not agree personal terms and then released a statement saying the deal was off.
It said: “Sunderland AFC will not be pursuing its interest in Inter Milan player Davide Santon, after negotiations between the two clubs failed to reach a positive conclusion.”
It meant that Santon did not join up with the Black Cats squad in Austria, where they were being put through their paces ahead of the new season.
