Striker booked for cheekily popping the question after scoring an overhead kick

STRIKER Ashton Surber had a day to remember in his side’s 5-1 win in their first game back after the Christmas break.

Surber, who plays in the Guam Budweiser Premier League, scored for NAPA Rovers against Guam Shipyard.

Booked...for proposing to his girlfriend
Booked…that was Ashton Surber’s penalty for proposing to his girlfriend

He also decided to propose to his girlfriend – only to discover the referee wasn’t in the mood for romantic gestures on the field of play.

So Surber, who took off his team shirt to reveal a T-shirt sporting the words ‘Marry Me?’, was promptly booked for removing his shirt.

This extraordinary turn of events unfolded after Surber tucked away a spectacular overhead kick in the 35th minute and rushed over to his girlfriend in the crowd.

He certainly made a splash with his unusual proposal.
