IPSWICH TOWN have secured the signing of highly-rated Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers.
The 20-year-old USA international has joined the Championship side on loan until the end of the season.
Carter-Vickers spent the first half of the campaign with second tier rivals Sheffield United before he was recalled by Spurs last week.
But now he is looking forward to a new challenge under Mick McCarthy and is aiming to help the Tractor Boys achieve play-off joy.
Speaking to ITFC.co.uk, Carter-Vickers said: “I didn’t expect to be called back.
“I thought I would be at Sheffield for the season but then I got told Ipswich wanted me.
“It’s all happened very quickly but I know Ipswich are a big club and it’s an exciting opportunity for me.
“I looked at the Championship table and Ipswich are only four points off the play-offs so hopefully I can help the team push on and compete for the top six places.”
Carter-Vickers featured 18 times for the Blades but struggled for regular starts for the high-flyers.
And he is looking forward to getting some more match action for one of the “big clubs”.

He added:“I’ve really enjoyed Championship football.
“It’s a demanding league and there are a lot of big clubs in the division.
“Ipswich are one of them and I’m thankful for the chance to come and play here.”
Carter-Vickers has been handed the number 27 shirt at Ipswich and will be available for tomorrow’s clash away at Bolton.
The versatile youngster has progressed through the ranks at Spurs and worked closely with Bryan Klug, now Ipswich’s head of player at coaching development, in the club’s academy.
