SPANISH second tier side Numancia were forced to apologise to Andres Iniesta after dropping a clanger with their tribute tweet.
The iconic midfielder’s recently revelation he was leaving Barcelona was met with admiration everywhere across his homeland, where he he is extremely popular having scored the World Cup-winning goal in 2010.

And Numancia were determined to add their piece — but perhaps they should have been a tad more careful.
On their official Twitter account, they posted what at first glance appeared an innocent picture of Iniesta in action against their side during a 2008 clash.
However, eagle-eyed viewers soon spotted that a little too much of the Spaniard was on show, thanks to a gap in his shorts.
It was an unfortunate blunder as the image was accompanied with the touching words: “We have enjoyed much with you, Andres Iniesta. Thank you for always being an exemplary player and person for our youth.”

The following morning, they replied to their original tweet with a light-hearted apology and a more recent image of the midfielder.
It read: “We apologise Andres Iniesta. It was not our intention. And now that we have realised you are all so great at finding Wally, we want to admire your courage. There are few who equal you.”
The unfortunate image from the original tweet is actually from Pep Guardiola‘s first league match in charge of Barcelona nearly a decade ago.
And, incredibly, Numancia won the clash 1-0.
