SIX fans have been arrested following Middlesbrough’s 3-0 win over Leeds United on Friday night, after a flare was set off in the away end of the Riverside Stadium.
No-one was injured in the incident in Teesside, but police are holding half a dozen suspects.

The six supporters are in trouble for public order offences, possession of pyrotechnics and throwing missiles onto the field of play.
During the game itself, Patrick Bamford scored a sensational hat-trick to stun hopeless Leeds in the North-East.
The former Chelsea forward scored all three in the one-sided victory as Boro look to force their way back into the Championship play-off picture.
Bamford scored twice in the first half and added a third halfway through the second to take Tony Pulis’ side into the top six, leapfrogging Sheffield United to the final playoff place.

It was all too much for some Leeds supporters as a beer bottle appeared to be thrown towards the home players after their second goal.
Visiting fans also hurled a couple of flares into empty seats beside the home support, as police were forced to intervene and make a handful of arrests.

The big loss for Leeds also put a major dent in their already-faint hopes of sneaking into the promotion spots.
The Elland Road outfit now sit six points behind Middlesbrough in the table, good enough for only 11th in the Championship.
