Gnabry, 21, joined Arsenal’s academy in 2011 but has failed to force his way into Arsene Wenger’s first-team plans.
However an impressive Rio 2016 campaign – in which he scored six goals in six games en route to a silver medal – sparked interest in his native Germany.
Wenger had been keen to keep Gnabry at the Emirates this season but the player has pushed through a move.

Bayern are still believed to be keen on the midfielder and will monitor his progress this season.
Sources in Germany suggest the German champions will have an option to sign him next summer.
Bremen sporting director Frank Baumann insisted on Tuesday: “Serge Gnabry would like to play with us and talks with Arsenal are going well. FC Bayern have no influence on a potential transfer.

“We’ve agreed terms with the player and we’re confident that the transfer will go ahead. We were interested in the player four years ago but unfortunately it didn’t work out back then.
“We have reached an agreement with Arsenal but nothing has been finalised as of yet.
“The transfer could be confirmed tomorrow morning.”
