LIVERPOOL forward Sadio Mane has pledged to return from knee surgery “even better than before”.
The Senegal striker will miss the rest of the season after being injured during the Merseyside derby earlier this month.
But after undergoing surgery on Tuesday, the 25-year-old sent a positive message to Liverpool fans.
“It’s great that I have received so many encouraging messages from fans around the world, particularly on social media,” he said.
“It makes me proud and gives me so much power that so many supporters of Liverpool FC and Senegal give me such great support. I’d like to say thank you to everyone.

Reds supporters have reason to be fearful as Mane, who joined from Southampton for £34 million last summer, has been the team’s most potent weapon.
As well as being their top scorer with 13 goals this term, he seems to have a galvanising effect on his team-mates.

Until their hard-fought 2-1 win at Stoke last Saturday, Liverpool had not won in the four games in which Mane was absent.
With Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson also injured, manager Jurgen Klopp faces a challenge to ensure his team holds on to its place in the top four.
