No final agreement has been reached but a clash in America at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California on May 28 has been lined up.

Mexico, who have West Ham’s Javier Hernandez in their ranks, face World Cup holders Germany in Russia.

Fellow European side Sweden plus South Korea are also in their group.

And the Central Americans view Wales – who just failed to qualify for the finals after making the play-offs – as a good test with the prospect of facing Gareth Bale.

Yet Bale’s participation will be determined by Real Madrid’s progress in the Champions League.

If Real, who face Paris Saint Germain in the last 16, reach the Kiev final on May 26 then Wales’ talisman would be unavailable.
