VLADIMIR PUTIN’S spokesman has blasted a lavish Monte Carlo champagne party attended by two Russian flops as “a shameless display of conceit”.
Euro 2016 failures Aleksandr Kokorin and Pavel Mamaev both enjoyed a knees up at the plush nightclub, with an online video showing the pair surrounded by £213,000 worth of sparkly while Russia’s national anthem played in the background.

Both players are alleged to have ordered 500 bottles of Armand de Brignac ‘Ace of Spades’ champagne, though they deny they spent any money on booze.
President Putin’s representative, Dmitry Peskov, gave a cryptic warning to the players.
He said: “It first needs to be established if this conceited disgrace was paid for by our footballers or by someone else … If it was done by the soccer players themselves, let God judge them.”

Kokorin, 25, has been exiled from Zenit St Petersburg’s first team. The club said in a statement: “Unfortunately, some Russian players can find themselves in these scandalous situations due to a lack of common sense.”
While Mamaev’s side, FC Kasnador, condemned the 27-year-old midfielder’s behaviour as “outrageous and unacceptable”.

Both players have also been fined.
Kokorin told Sports.ru: “Somebody was celebrating their birthday and we were simply there. Naturally, everybody saw the bottles and heard the Russian anthem, but why put all this on us?”
