ROBIN VAN PERSIE has been banned for two matches after celebrating in the face of a former Arsenal teammate.
The Dutchman scored the only goal in Fenerbahce’s 1-0 Turkish Cup win over fierce rivals Besiktas and slid on his knees past Oguzhan Ozyakup.

Ozyakup was so infuriated by the incident that after the match he declared his friendship with Van Persie over.
Former Man United and Arsenal striker Van Persie was handed a three-match ban but saw the suspension reduced on appeal.
Following the match, Fenerbahce controversially released a t-shirt of the now-notorious goal celebration.

RVP also caused controversy after his theatrical reaction to a headbutt, which saw Besiktas defender Dusko Tosic sent off.
Tosic's wife was not taking the decision lying down as she raged on Twitter, calling Van Persie "a motherf*****".
Jelena Karleusa had to be calmed down by Dusko, who convinced her to delete her tweets.

But that didn't prevent the Serbian from receiving a four-match ban for his part in the incident.
Karleusa also took to Twitter in a rage about the t-shirt portraying Van Persie's celebration.
The singer was so annoyed that she released a shirt of her own, showing her husband standing tall with the striker throwing himself to the ground.
In January, Van Persie rejected interest from Sao Paulo and former club Feyenoord to stay with Fenerbahce.
