ROBERTO FIRMINO has been handed the iconic No.9 shirt at Liverpool after Mohamed Salah took his No.11 jersey.
Jurgen Klopp spent an initial £34million on the Egypt international and did not hesitate to hand Salah his preferred squad number.

And the move means Firmino will now be Liverpool’s new No.9, following in the footsteps of Anfield legends including Ian Rush, Robbie Fowler and Fernando Torres.
However, fans who have already splashed out on a new Liverpool shirt with Firmino’s old number are not happy.
The Brazilian has offered to sign those kits but many are annoyed by the fact they’ve spent £50 on the wrong item.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo after buying one for his 10-year-old son, Jon Edwards said: “We bought the kit three weeks ago and now we’ve taken it back to the club shop at Anfield and asked for a refund, and they have said they can’t.
“They have told us to send it back in for Firmino to sign, but it’s a total disgrace! What kid is going to want to walk around with the wrong number on the back? They will get laughed at in school, it’s not very nice.

“They want us to fork out another £50 for a new shirt with the No.9 on the back. They are just ripping people off, it is a disgrace.
“We bought the home and away kits, like we do every year, and they are changing it every season, so it’s £100 plus every year. I don’t think Firmino is going to sign thousands of kits, is he?”
