HUGO PALMER is on a roll.
Fresh from Architecture’s second in Friday’s Oaks, Hawksmoor provided Palmer with another classic in the German 1,000 Guineas.
It was the third Classic victory in a year for Palmer following on from Covert Love’s Irish Oaks and Galileo Gold’s 2,000 Guineas win.
Palmer said: “”That was great, the race worked out exactly as we’d hoped. “Hawksmoor won a Group 3 last year, so it was our aim to win a Group 2, and now that has been achieved we’ll look for a Group 1, something like the Falmouth, though I wouldn’t run her if it were to get too fast.
“She likes a bit of cut and the ground today was perfect.”
