And Shaunae Miller proved she had nothing else other than gold in her sights during a dramatic finish to the women’s 400m final on Monday.

The Barbados ace was neck-and-neck with USA star Allyson Felix as the finish line approached.
There was nothing to split the pair, but Miller sensationally got herself over the line in first by producing an epic dive at the final second.
It might have been unconventional, but it was enough for her to strike gold in Rio.
Miller said: “I don’t know what happened. My mind went blank. The only thing I was thinking was the gold medal and the next thing I was on the ground.”

But even though her rivals weren’t too happy with the outcome, the general public made their feelings quickly known as brilliant memes flooded the internet.
Posting pictures of Miller diving, one comedian wrote: “Me when the sample pizza bagels come out of the toaster oven at Costco.”
Another quipped: “When you submit a paper on Turnitin at 11.59pm.”
