Rio Ferdinand works up a sweat with girlfriend and former Towie babe Katie Wright in rigorous gym routine

RIO FERDINAND had a training partner for his latest gruelling gym session as girlfriend Katie Wright worked up a sweat with him.

And the former Manchester United and England man appeared to get somewhat “distracted” during his workout.

Ferdinand is in training ahead of making his professional boxing debut – although a date is yet to be set for this.

And in this clip shared in Instagram, the ex-footballer was joined in the makeshift gym by former Towie babe Wright.

The clip starts with Ferdinand lifting a kettlebell above his head, while Wright works out in the background.

She then joins Ferdinand on the kettlebells, with the pair synchro-exercising.

Rio decides to take a rest and heads to the workout bench. But he still wants to take a keen interest – in his girlfriend.

As Katie continues with the kettlebell swings, Rio finds it difficult to take his eyes off his stunning other half.

COLIN HART The boxing match-up that really is the fight of the century

He then jumps up to give a helping hand to his workout partner, but she is having none of it.

In October SunSport reported how the 39-year-old will have just ONE boxing bout with the financial backing of a betting company.

Speaking on BBC Breakfast, Ferdinand said: “I want to see if I can get a licence and become a professional and have one fight.

“I am not looking to have a career here. I am looking to have a professional fight and I will see where I go then.

“This is not a joke. Hopefully, I will get a license, go on to become a professional and fight someone.

“Boxing can’t be a gimmick. If I take it lightly, I will get hurt.”
