CRISTIANO RONALDO took a swipe at video technology as chaos surrounded his 500th career goal.
Karim Benzema and Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo netted goals at the end of each half to hand the European champions a 2-0 win over Mexican outfit Club America and fire them into the World Club Cup final.

Ronaldo struck three minutes into injury time when he raced onto a pass from James Rodriguez and fired in an angled drive.

But his celebrations were cut short – leaving him to wait almost a minute for his goal to be confirmed.
In the middle of Ronaldo striking his trademark celebratory pose, Paraguayan ref Enrique Caceres signalled he was checking whether the Portuguese star had strayed offside.
Unlike yesterday’s penalty decision in Kashima Antlers’ 3-0 win over Atletico Nacional, the ref did not have to walk to the side of the pitch to take a look at the decision himself on a pitch-side monitor.
The ‘video assistant referee’ ruled the goal could stand, as confusion broke out amid complaints from James and America’s players.

The full-time whistle blew seconds later before Ronaldo was caught saying “the television doesn’t work” as he walked off the pitch.
Victory sent Zinedine Zidane’s side into Sunday’s final against Antlers.
And it means the France legend breaks Carlo Ancelotti’s club record by going 36 games unbeaten as boss.
Zidane demanded that Fifa’s approach to technology is made simpler.
