REAL MADRID made history on Saturday night when they beat Juventus in the Champions League final.
In running out 4-1 winners against Juventus at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, Zinedine Zidane‘s men became the first team in history to successfully defend their trophy.

However, the victory – putting four past a team who only conceded three in before that game in entire tournament – made history in another way.
When Cristiano Ronaldo netted his first goal in the 20th minute, it meant Real Madrid had scored in EVERY game they played in the 2016-17 season.
Madrid played an incredible 60 games this season in all competitions – managing to score in all of them… the only team in Europe’s ‘Big Five’ leagues to manage the feat.
Of those 60 games, 38 came in La Liga, 13 in the Champions League, six in the Copa del Rey, two in the Club World Cup and one final outing in the Super Cup.

Despite the jam-packed nature of their 2016-17 schedule, Real won an astounding 44 of those games this term, losing just five - drawing 11.
The Galacticos managed to find the back of the net 173 times from those 60 outings - at just shy of a monstrous THREE per game.
It's little wonder then they managed to run out as champions on the domestic, European and even 'World' front - after beating Kashima Antlers in the Fifa Club World Cup.
Amazingly, no other European giant managed to score in every outing - and no side scored more goals than Real.

Spanish rivals Barcelona came closest, netting 171 goals from their 59 games, with Monaco (159), Paris Saint-Germain (141) and Bayern Munich (132) completing the top five in Europe.
Out of Real's stars, unsurprisingly Ronaldo was the top scorer, scoring an astonishing 42 goals, with Chelsea and Manchester United target Alvaro Morata bagging 20.
However, few of those goals would have been possible without unsung hero Toni Kroos, who managed 16 assists and 132 chances created this season - with Marcelo the next-best creator with 13 and 76.
One thing is for sure, defences across the globe are bound to be terrified already for 2017-18...
