Real Madrid legend Ronaldo warns Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho against moving to Barcelona

REAL MADRID legend Ronaldo has warned Liverpool ace Philippe Coutinho against moving to Barcelona because the Catalans “have always had issues” with Brazilians.

The striker, 41, spent a single year at Camp Nou before leaving for Serie A side Inter in 1997 and does not have fond memories of his time there.

R9 has insisted he had happier times in the Spanish capital than in Catalonia.

He said: “I felt much more happy and more connected to Real Madrid, despite having lived a great year in Barcelona.”

“In the end, my history with Barça was very bad, similar to the one Neymar had.

“Barcelona has always had issues with Brazilian players: Neymar, Romario, Ronaldinho and me.

“We were all treated badly by the club in the end, despite all our contributions and dedication.”

Coutinho, 25, remains Barca’s top target,  despite the club’s failure – on three occasions – to land him in the summer.

The Brazilian handed in a transfer request last summer but with Kop boss Jurgen Klopp refusing to sell, he refocused to star for the Reds this season.

Coutinho is under contract at Anfield until 2022 but his desire to seal a move to a side with a proven track record in Europe is well known.
