Real Madrid and Colombia star James Rodriguez mocked by internet memes after stepping out with blonde barnet

FOOTBALL fans have flooded the internet with memes of James Rodriguez after the Real Madrid star stepped out with a bright white barnet.

James has become the latest ace to bleach his hair in what is fast becoming the latest trend in the beautiful game.

Manchester City’s Samir Nasri and Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey – as well as Manchester United duo Marouane Fellaini and Phil Jones – have all opted for the stand-out hair do recently, but unlike the Premier League quartet, James has been mocked without mercy by the football community.

The 24-year-old has been compared to a number of female popstars and TV characters including Miley Cyrus and and Game of Thrones’ Daenerys Targaryen.

One picture shows James being mistaken for dragon-loving Khaleesi, while another has his face superimposed on Cyrus as she swings on the infamous wrecking ball.

It gets worse for James, with pop star Justin Bieber and The Simpsons’ Milhouse also joining in the fun and games.

And fans are in a frenzy over the playmaker’s bizarre new style, with user ‘St3phx’ observing: “His hair tho” and ‘Elamodeox’ adding: “Haha. He’s a Real Madrid player, he can do anything.”

But James will be hoping his flamboyant hair doesn’t get in the way of a Bernabeu exit this summer.

The Colombian is out of favour under Zinedine Zidane and has been linked with a move to England.

Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United are all reportedly interested, although James could cost as much as £50million.

But French giants Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be leading the race as they look to make a marquee signing following the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer.
