Due to be held at the end of April at Stockley Park Golf Club in west London, the event was priced £119 per person and included a drinks reception, three course Asian-inspired dinner, auction and raffle.
Many supporters wanted the annual dinner to be reintroduced, but were put off by the price of tickets and the fact it was only announced last week at late notice.
Not enough tickets were reportedly sold for the event, which was making a return after six yearsPA:Press Association
R’s CEO Lee Hoos told the club’s official website: “We are naturally disappointed that we’ve had to cancel the event.
“I have spoken to a lot of fans over the last 18 months about their desire for the event to return, but it seems the price point is still an issue and therefore we’ve been left with little option but to cancel the event.
Now in his second spell in charge, boss Ian Holloway wanted it brought back, but to no availRex Features

Rangers are mid-table in the Championship yet again
Fans who have purchased tickets will be refunded by the London side who have had an indifferent season in the Championship.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s tenure last season and the first few months of this term inspired little confidence among the faithful.
And while Holloway's second spell in charge has seen them pull away from relegation troubles, they have lost three matches in a row and sit 16th - 10 points away clear of bottom three.
After a period yo-yoing between the Premier League and the Championship, this is now the second season in succession they will have finished in mid-table.
