TOTTENHAM put in a footballing masterclass at Wembley on Wednesday night to rip Real Madrid to shreds.
The La Liga giants have won the Champions League in the last two seasons, as well as winning three of the last four trophies.

On top of that Los Blancos haven’t lost a single group stage game in Europe’s elite competition since 2012.
Despite that, a Dele Alli-inspired Spurs ran riot, scoring three times to grab yet another win in the “Group of Death”.
Their win, to go with victories for Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United this week pushed the win tally for English clubs in the tournament to 15.
Incredibly, despite being just four game-weeks into the tournament, Premier League sides have already won MORE matches than in the entirety of last season’s competition.

A year ago, City and Tottenham were joined by Arsenal and Leicester for the group stages of the Champions League, as they combined for just 14 wins.
While the Foxes and Gunners won four of their group games apiece, City and Spurs could only manage two wins each – with the North Londoners eliminated.

Pep Guardiola’s men then lost to Monaco in the last-16 – winning one leg – while Arsenal were utterly thumped 10-2 on aggregate by Bayern Munich.
Leicester were the last side standing – and they battle past Sevilla before losing to Atletico Madrid at the quarter-final stage.

The sub-par tournament saw English sides win just 43.8 per cent of their 32 games, a drop off from 2015-16’s 44.1 per cent.
However, fast forward back to the present day and English clubs have won an astounding 75 per cent of their games, with 15 wins in 20 matches.
That is easily the best ratio since records began in 1994-95, with Premier League sides only winning 50 per cent or more of their Champions League games eight times in that span.

The last time an English side won more than half of their games combined was in 2013-14 when Man United reached the last eight and Chelsea reached the semis.
At the end of game-week four, Man United, Liverpool, Man City and Tottenham all sit top of their group, while Chelsea sit second.
As things stand, all five English teams are set to progress to the next round, with 26 wins – in 2006-07 and 2007-08 – the win-total to beat.
