Philippe Coutinho is hailed as a ‘class act’ by Adam Lallana for flying back to say farewell to his former Liverpool team-mates

PHILIPPE COUTIHHO has been hailed as a “class act” by Adam Lallana for flying back to say a final farewell to his old Liverpool team-mates.

Anfield midfielder Lallana posted a beaming photo on Instagram of him with Barcelona‘s new £145million superstar.

Lallana added the message: “Back to say his farewells… a class act this little genius.”

But fans who responded on social media seemed as interested in the duo’s controversial fashion sense as they were in the reunion.

Both stars wore tight, ripped jeans – Coutinho completing the look with a cap worn backwards.

Beneath the Instagram snap, Caruana.jonathan said of the Brazilian playmaker: “His dress sense is as bad as his sense of loyalty.”

A few supporters also slated Coutinho for his exit but others said Liverpool were already sorely missing him.

The Countinho-less Reds followed a magical 4-3 home win over Manchester City with a 1-0 loss at bottom club Swansea and a 3-2 FA Cup KO against strugglers West Brom.

But Liverpool chief Jurgen Klopp is in no rush to replace the 25-year-old.

The Reds certainly miss Coutinho’s invention just behind their strikers.

But Klopp has confidence that Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and especially Mohamed Salad can provide enough goals to make up for the absence of the man who was arguably the Premier League’s best creator.

Meanwhile, West Brom are close to prising England hopeful Daniel Sturridge away from Anfield on loan for the rest of the term.

New Baggies boss Alan Pardew is tipped to pull off perhaps the biggest shock move of the transfer window – despite Newcastle believing they were in pole position for the ex-Manchester City and Chelsea frontman.
