Dec 20, 2017

PAUL POGBA got his sugar fix ahead of tonight’s Carabao Cup clash by appearing to gobble down some liquourice as he and his Manchester United team-mates boarded their jet down to Bristol.

Jose Mourinho’s side face City – Bristol, that is – in the quarter-final tonight.

But the Red Devils will be looking to emulate the achievements of neighbourhood rivals Manchester City who advanced to the semis after beating Leicester on penalties last night.

Robins boss Lee Johnson has already splashed £450 on a bottle of wine for Mourinho.

And he will be hoping to toast a victory of his own if the Championship high-fliers can pull off an upset at Ashton Gate.

United travelled down early this morning, making easy work of the 140-mile trip to the south west in their plush private plane.

They were in training yesterday under the watchful eye of Mourinho – who looks to have Henrikh Mkhitaryan back in his good books.

The Armenian winger has been used only sparingly this season but broke into a smile upon his arrival at the AON training complex.

There could also be game time for Luke Shaw and Axel Tuanzebe, who were also pictured boarding the steps to the aircraft alongside the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku.
