Paul Pogba is the £105million Manchester United target with a history of outrageous hairstyles

PAUL POGBA is the man Manchester United want for £105million who is tipped as future Ballon d’Or winner.

One thing we are sure of is that Pogba would win ANY awards going for wacky haircuts in football — averaging two a month this year.

Here, SunSport takes you through the weird and wonderful world of the Juventus ace’s barnets after his various run-ins with a pair of clippers and a bottle of hair dye…

He sported his latest ‘do with ‘POGBOOM’ inscribed on the side of his head for Les Bleus’ 3-2 friendly win over Cameroon ahead of Euro 2016.

The midfield ace has launched a laceless range of boots through his sponsor adidas — with his moniker ‘Pogboom’ on one boot and ‘Pogbance’ on the other — as part of a reported £31million ten-year deal with the kit manufacturers.

He picked up the nickname due to his explosive running style on the pitch and we reckon he probably prefers it to his other nickname of ‘Il Polpo Paul’ — Italian for ‘Paul the Octopus’, a reference to his tentacle-like legs.

Given the commercial significance of this trim and the exposure he’ll be getting over the next month, you’d have thought it might survive until the end of the Euros.

Some, however, have not lasted a fortnight…

Just a couple of weeks before he unveiled his ‘POGBOOM’ number, he’d gone for these zebra stripes as Juve hammered Sampdoria 5-0 at home in the final Serie A game of the season, having clinched the Scudetto three weeks earlier.

Some of his styles have no explanation.

But the man himself seemed to offer some logic with the hashtags in a tweet posted two days later.

A month ago — and two haircuts previously — he had a series of numbers dyed on the side of his bonce.

Again, he took to social media to explain this one days after The Old Lady had clinched their 34th league title — although that is officially counted at 32 given two were deducted due to their involvement in Italy’s match-fixing scandal of 2006.

The numbers indicate appear a tribute to Juve’s five successive Scudetto triumphs, four of which Pogba has helped them to in his four years in Turin.

It could be seen as his own take on 'business at the front, party at the back'...

The week before Juve clinched the league, Pogba had something different.

We’re not sure there’s any great signficance to this one, but it’s pretty mad anyway.

A Twitter photo shows Pogba with his family, including football-playing brothers Florentin and Mathias.

As with many of his barnets, there were two sides to this coin.

The right had a jazzy pattern of lines cut into it, the left had his ‘PLP’ initials carved in and dyed — his middle name being Labile — just in case anyone forgot.

Just 11 days earlier, Pogba showed his love for the Minions...

We reckon ‘PLP’ did okay, surviving for about a month.

Prior to that Pogba went with ‘the Batman’ as a charity stunt aimed at promoting awareness of Gotham City FC’s plight after backer Bruce Wayne pulled the plug on funding.

Or maybe it just had something to do with the release of the ‘Batman v Superman’ film a month later... we’re not sure.

This one looks like a nostalgic shout-out to a favourite game.

Looking stylish with gold-rimmed glasses and bling earring, he briefly had a ‘Poke Ball’ shaved on one side of his head.

His Instagram feed gives us a closer look...

This one was pretty outrageous, even by his standards.

Ahead of 1-0 Serie A win over Roma on January 24, Pogba unveiled a leopard print shaved into the side of his head with a blonde-tip mohawk.

He had revealed it to his Instagram followers earlier in the day with the comment: “New hairstyle for tonight bang bang bang bang!!”

This seems to be homage to the ‘dab’ dance craze that originated from the US hip-hop scene.

Jesse Lingard brought the moves to the Prem when he netted for Manchester United’s 3-3 draw against Newcastle in January.

And maybe he’d pinched the idea off Pogba, who came from from Juve’s festive break with ‘DAB’ inked on his dome.

This year seems to have marked a turning point for Pogba haircuts, with significance creeping into his demands when he hit the barbers.

Here are some of his trims prior to 2016...
