SunSport exclusively revealed last week that new Three Lions boss Sam Allardyce had hoped to add highly-regarded coach Clement, 44, to his England coaching staff.

Clement was sacked as Derby manager last season but has built a strong reputation as an assistant manager, working under Carlo Ancelotti at Paris St Germain, Real Madrid and now with German champions Bayern.

The FA’s plan was for Clement to work part-time with England during the international breaks before returning to Germany.

But it appears Bayern have not been persuaded, having only appointed Clement in June ahead of the new Bundesliga season.

Allardyce, who was confirmed as Roy Hodgson‘s successor last week, has already appointed former Bolton colleague Sammy Lee as assistant coach.
