PAOK Thessaloniki’s Serbian coach Vladimir Ivic was struck in the head by a beer can tonight as the Greek Super League playoff clash at Panathinaikos was abandoned.
The incident happened in the 54th minute with Panathinaikos leading 1-0 when a brawl broke out between the players on the pitch.

Ivic, 40, was taken to hospital where media reports said two stitches were needed to close his wound.
In the meantime, after close to an hour’s suspension, referee Giorgos Kominos abandoned the match that will be most likely awarded to PAOK with a 3-0 decision.

Panathinaikos faces a heavy fine, a deduction of points from next season and playing home matches behind closed doors.
PAOK owner Ivan Savvidis said:"The natural and moral perpetrators of today's comedy will be hunted with all the means of redress."
Kominos red-carded Panathinaikos' Mali defender Ousmane Coulibaly and PAOK's Ukraine midfielder Yevhen Shakhov and gave yellow cards to PAOK Spanish defender Jose Angel Crespo and Panathinaikos' Swedish forward Marcus Berg for the fighting prior to the can-throwing incident.
