OLIVIER GIROUD has no intention of leaving Arsenal this summer, according to his agent.
It has been suggested the French striker, 29, could be used in a swap deal with Napoli to bring £79million-rated Gonzalo Higuain to the Emirates.

But Giroud’s agent, Michael Manuello, insists there has been no contact with the Italian club.
He said: “Everything I’ve read on Giroud is not true. I personally have only said that if Arsenal want to sell, then we will see.
“But today [he] is an Arsenal player and [not] even for a minute [have] we thought of another project, I would like to stress.
“We never talked to Naples and there are no other persons appointed over me that can do this, we need to clarify this.”

However, Manuello had previously hinted Giroud would be happy at Napoli.
He told Radio CRC last week: “There is no fear in Olivier going to Napoli, it is a magnificent city.

“In Campania, my client would lead a wonderful life, not to mention that the type of game orchestrated by Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri could enhance the quality of a centre-forward like him.”
Arsene Wenger‘s hunt for a new forward – with Higuain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Julian Draxler all linked – appears worrying for Giroud.

When asked whether the Euro 2016 finalist is happy to fight for his place, Manuello added: “Yes, you always need two strikers.
“Welbeck is out for nine months unfortunately. And it is quite normal that if you play in a great team it is natural that we should face strong competition.”
