And despite his 10th-round knockout, McGregor can count the Manchester City fanatic among his huge following.

Gallagher told  Absolute Radio: “The trash-talking, oh I love him.

“He’s a dude. An absolute dude. He makes me cry laughing when he’s going on about Floyd Mayweather’s baldy little head.

“Charisma will get you a long way. If you’re talented and you’ve got charisma, the world is your oyster — and that guy has got it.

“It’s like ‘wow, what planet have you come from?’ — he’s unbelievable. I’d love to meet him.”

McGregor’s next action is expected to be a UFC return for a decider against Nate Diaz.

The Irish fighter avenged a defeat to the American and is looking to prove his superiority.

But UFC chief Dana White has shot down claims the fight will happen in 2017.

Responding to a fan, White tweeted: “Not true AT ALL.”

But there are plenty in the McGregor camp who want to see the Irishman fight Diaz after pocketing £74million from his bout with Mayweather.

Striking coach Owen Roddy told The MMA Hour: “I’d like to see Diaz III and the reason I say Diaz is because the build-up is exciting and those fights are so exciting.

“The back and forth, there’s nothing like it. It’s just a mad scene.

"The two fights against Diaz were probably the most exciting camps I’ve been a part of and to do that again would be unbelievable.
