Norwich City fan asks hotel for a framed picture of Wes Hoolahan near his bed… and they duly deliver

A NORWICH CITY fan got more than he bargained for when he got to wake up next to a picture of midfielder Wes Hoolahan on a mini break.

Passionate Canaries supporter Darren Wood booked himself a room at the Haycock Hotel in Cambridgeshire.

But when asked if he had any special requirements, Wood only had one thing in mind.

He wrote in the box: “A framed picture of Wes Hoolahan on the bedside table.”

And the Haycock Hotel duly delivered… printing off a picture of Hoolahan celebrating in an Ireland shirt and framing it next to the bed.

Hoolahan, 35, is a huge fan favourite amongst Norwich fans having racked up over 320 appearances since joining the club in 2008.

The picture used by the hotel came in a Euro 2016 Group Stage match between Ireland and Sweden where Hoolahan opened the scoring in the 1-1 draw.

Wood took to Twitter after his stay to thank the hotel. He wrote: "Thanks to Haycock Hotel for this. Absolutely amazing stuff!."

It has been a slow start to the season for Norwich picking up just one win from their opening four matches.

On Saturday they lost 4-2 to promotion hopefuls Aston Villa with Hoolahan coming off the bench.
