The stunning idea has been put to the FA by Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku.

His love of the NBA and their yearly East vs West Classic has raised the question of whether fans in England should be treated to a single spectacle involving all of their favourite players.

Supporters would vote for the stars they would like to see feature, with the most popular securing places in a starting XI.

Teams would be managed by the most successful managers from either half of England.

And better still, all proceeds would go to charity.
